Ik heb ik heb wat jij niet hebt

How rich do you have to be to no longer need others? And what is the purchase price of love? How much VAT is there on humanity? In IK HEB IK HEB WAT JIJ NIET HEBT theater maker Lenneke Maas, together with dancer Tegest Pecht-Guido and musician Woody Veneman, explores the need for money and possession.

Tegest was born in Ethiopia. When she was 5, she was adopted along with her sister. She grew up in our prosperous part of the world. For her, what is the value of money and property? Woody Veneman is a successful musician who grew up in an underprivileged neighborhood in Eindhoven. For him, music was his greatest capital. Together they explore the pain of not having something you should have. Something you need to belong, to participate, to be equal. The envy of too little, the indifference of too much.

"You can't throw a suitcase of money on the counter and say, 'do me what she has because you don't have this and I have it.'"

For this performance, Lenneke interacted with Young people from Dynamo's youth perspective fund. With special thanks to Dynamo-Mark de Weijer, Richenne Zeebregts and Femke Brekelmans, the youth from Youth Perspective Fund Eindhoven, the children from Wildpark, Pand P and Parktheater Eindhoven.
