After The Point Being (2023), we are delighted to welcome our new associate choreographers Imre van Opstal & Marne van Opstal to NDT 2 for a world premiere. Since leaving NDT as dancers and starting their careers as choreographers, the sister and brother have distinguished themselves as outspoken creators with a raw and emotional style. Their world premiere explores what happens to body when it becomes addicted to a constant state of anticipation caused by today's endless stimuli. The dancers oscillate between excitement and exhaustion, attention and absent-mindedness, repeating unfinished movements with increasing urgency. Their quest for intensity ends in emptiness. The work invites us to break away from the cycle of stimuli and make room for the idea that real life only begins when the noise stops.

The worlds that Sharon Eyal & Gai Behar create on play can be called unique, intoxicating and intensely compelling. In I dreamt, it was you are invited to step into the universe of SAABA (2021). This beloved work was created for GöteborgsOperansDanskompani, but NDT 2 now presents it in its own, updated version. SAABA exudes passion and vulnerability, seducing with hypnotic movements, spherical lighting design and composer Ori Lichtik's irresistible groove. This work is a powerful example of Eyal's genius and idiosyncratic voice, with which she fuses classical ballet and contemporary dance into something supernatural. Irresistible!
