Where are we without our heroes? Everyone has a hero, big or small. And we love to honor them. Helden van het Zuiden is a collective of musicians of varying composition, led by Björn van der Doelen and his band De Huursoldaten, who honor their musical heroes through music and stories.

An intimate evening with music, conversations and stories. Björn van der Doelen invites his musical friends for a wonderful evening with their own, favorite songs. In the setting of a rehearsal room, where the filter coffee is running and the bottles of beer are cold, they plop down next to Björn on the couch. They share their personal stories behind the songs, their fascination with their heroes, let a piece be heard on a creaking pickup and play the songs in a way that suits them.

At this edition of the Helden van het Zuiden, Björn welcomes his friends Guus Meeuwis, Alissa May, Bertus Borgers and Merel Sophie. Together with his band they will provide an unforgettable evening of Brabant musicality of the highest order!

About Björn van der Doelen
Former professional soccer player and Goirle-based Björn van der Doelen (PSV, Standaard Luik, FC Twente and NEC Nijmegen) quit soccer before he was 30 to make music. By now he is five albums and hundreds of performances continue and Van der Doelen now stands as a natural on theatre. A character for whom the smile is never far away. Who can tell a story. Not poetic bullshit but true words.
