Following the success of the five-star performance Arthur & Friedrich, a night in Bayreuth now follows the third show in the philosophy series of theater duo Linssen & Provily. In Hannah & Simone, a morning in New York , we ask ourselves and them the question: what should we do? Are we really as powerless as we sometimes feel in this violent world, or are we just as responsible? What on earth is the right thing to do?
Hoping for answers, we, one a principled activist and the other a safe doubter, turn to the two thinkers Arendt and Weil. Never have they met. Until now.
An apartment, thirteen high. Two women, philosophers. Both Jewish, both fled to safe America. Both terrified of groups. And both addicted to cigarettes. But then again, it is war. And shouldn't people enjoy themselves?
Agreed: you have to do something. But what? And what if, after doing so much, you notice that nothing changes? Can you then give up?
Hannah & Simone, A Morning in New York is a passionate conversation about ultimate commitment. About screaming, writing and shrugging your shoulders. About friendship and guilt. In reality and on play.
