Through a video game, two brothers end up in a fantasy world and meet various fairy-tale characters from the famous stories of the Grimm brothers. Through the video projections, anything seems possible: a fruity spring forest changes in no time into an ominous witch forest. In it the dancers show what they are good at: dizzying pirouettes, impressive jumps, jerky popping-and-locking movements and stunning head spins.
Grimm is one of the now three joint productions by Marco Gerris and Ernst Meisner, the artistic directors of hip-hop dance collective ISH Dance Collective and the Junior Company of the Dutch National Ballet, respectively. The fact that their backgrounds are completely different is precisely their strength, according to them.
