In Great Catch you are introduced to a new generation of circus artists. The Circus Coalition selected three short performances that explore the boundaries of circus with guts and originality. House of Circus brings an explosive mix of circus and drag, full of glitter and humor. Knot on Hands plays with the (im)possibilities of partner acrobatics in a hypnotic movement language. With a 'Cyrwheel' without screws, Fenja Barteldres transforms the round ring into a completely new device. Great Catch invites you to discover the many faces of the circus. Catch it if you can!

About the Circus Coalition
Great Catch is an initiative of the Circus Coalition, a national collaboration of presenting and (co)producing institutions. The partners are: Circusstad Festival, TENT, Festival Circolo, Korzo, Buro Piket in collaboration with MAAS theater and dance, Circus Gang, De Schuur, Bijlmer Parktheater, Panama Pictures, Deventer op Stelten, CC Amstel and the study programs Codarts and Fontys. With this collaboration, the Circus Coalition is committed to stimulating talent, venues and audience growth for circus in the Netherlands.
About House of Circus
House of Circus mixes circus and drag and is a pioneer in this field. With lots of glitter they touch upon vulnerable themes around self-expression, power and gender identity. In SPOTLIGHT they throw all their circus skills into battle to claim that coveted spot in the spotlight. This pursuit of perfection does not come without doubt and bruises, but it does come with plenty of humor, makeup and show. Be guided by these circus queens and let come what comes.
About Knot on Hands
The innovative trio Knot on Hands creates a pure and hypnotic movement language with dizzying acrobatic inventions. They question (im)possibilities, check the space as a dynamic co-player and overturn roles (also between man and woman). They work from the urge to keep exploring and, with their three bodies, always find a new track. For Great Catch they are creating a new short work with elements from their performances Brace for Impact, Concrete and Passing by.
About Fenja Barteldres
Fenja Barteldres uses her Cyrwheel in an unusual way: without screws. This turns the round ring into a completely different device: wobbly and unstable, sometimes strangely curved, then agile like a snake or disintegrated into loose parts. In Cyrrealism, a whole world unfolds from one metal wheel in which Fenja has to reinvent herself again and again. A poetic metaphor about the imperfections of life.
