'The physical, beautiful play about a complicated, troubled inner world and Bergman's disconcertingly sober, often witty documentary input form a captivating combination that lifts the play far above a straightforward ego document.'
About Cat Smits
Cat Smits is setting up her own company Cat Smits Company in 2020. With this she makes radically honest, recognizable and vulnerable performances that shine with image and poetry. Both at home and abroad, Cat is seen as a specialist in the genre of puppetry. The foam puppets and sculptures Cat makes herself are her fellow and antagonists, as well as works of art in themselves. In the performances, Cat combines her magical puppetry with film, music, sharp lyrics and stunning sets. Cat uses images to put the things that are difficult to discuss on the table. In doing so, she takes subjects out of the taboo and ensures that everyone in the audience can identify with them.
