Somewhere in the city stands a wig factory specializing in black hair. Three women keep the factory running. They get a new colleague, Joy, who does not live up to her name. She is exhausted and on the run from a world of systems that are pulling her down.

Zoom in

Yet here, between the hairs and heads, melodies resound that touch her. Here people sing, dance and laugh, even when everything is against them. Black Joy is a kaleidoscope of music, storytelling and dance, in which four black Dutch women turn their struggles into an explosion of energy.
