Choreographer Piet Van Dycke works in BEYOND with six professional performers, each specialized in a different discipline (ladder walking, acro dance, acrobike, partner acrobatics and (pole) dance). On theatre, they reveal themselves to be boundless bridge builders.
With ladders, varying in size and height, the players build impressive constructions, such as arch sculptures and spinning cranes. They balance the ladders into an exciting, wobbly playing field. They explore unknown heights, climb, float and venture into daring choreography. Every inch and every second matters. They seek the extremes and discover how far they can drive each other. Physical dependence has never past event so exciting.
BEYOND is about the vulnerability, absurdity, but also the power of boundaries, and how we can push them by working together. Together we dance on the collective ladders of human imagination.

About Circumstances
Circumstances is the Belgian circus and dance company under the artistic direction of Piet Van Dycke. Circumstances develops, produces and distributes wordless, impactful circus and dance performances, in which Van Dycke collaborates with circus performers as choreographer. Circumstances is always created in/for/with other Circumstances: location and/or theater performances from different circus disciplines, with children/young people/older people, for different audiences.
Circumstances represents a purified cross-pollination between circus, dance, music and scenography. Energetic and poetic performances full of suspense that move and connect. The driving force behind Circumstances is choreographer Piet Van Dycke. He creates and directs groundbreaking performances that strengthen the connection between people. The productions are experienced as a breath of fresh air within the circus field, witness the BNG Bank prize (2021), Kinderjuryprijs Krokusfestival (2023) and selection Het TheaterFestival (2023).
