Do you ever give to charity? How good! Do you ever give to a beggar on the street? Even better! Five actors compete with the best of intentions for your mercy. Not for themselves, but to save a poor William. They explore what his tragic life story is worth. Join this sharp, humorous performance about help, good intentions and the often bizarre stories behind poverty. Can we really change anything? Perhaps. But we promise nothing.
Doekje voor het bloeden is a musical tragicomic theater performance that gives the audience a glimpse into the world of poverty, homelessness and its absurdity. William's suffering is translated into a story with the goal of improving it. But is it ethical to exhibit this poverty or is it at the expense of the dignity of those whose stories are being told? Balancing on the border of theater and reality, the performance offers you an experience; about the responsibility of artists, audience and society.
