In a combination of heartfelt performances, lively African dance styles, humor and impressive visuals, the Soweto Skeleton Movers from South Africa tell their personal life stories. Despite many setbacks and false temptations, these dancers are 'unbreakable'. You will be swept into a joyful and stunning mix of song, street scenes, compelling visuals and their 'skeleton pantsula', a mix of traditional South African street dance (pantsula) and 'bone breaking'. Welcome to Soweto! Unbreakable is a collaboration between Rotterdam choreographer Lloyd Marengo, London theater director Jonzi D, and the five explosively energetic dancers of Soweto Skeleton Movers.

In Don't Wanna Touch, YoungGangsters and DOX dive deep into the fear of touch and embrace the discomfort. Why can a simple handshake be awkward? Where does the shame come from with some touches? And when do you draw a line? Director Annechien de Vocht and choreographer Simon Bus, together with five energetic performers, create an exciting mix of hip-hop and “action theater”. With (un)ease, humor and vulnerability, we set boundaries and collectively break through the walls surrounding touch and intimacy. Are you ready to be touched?

Jennifer Romen (Maastricht, 1996) is a young, ambitious choreographer who, with her company Oxygen, impresses audiences with her unique visual work, such as the sold-out Delusion in 2023. In Delusion 2.0, Jennifer takes you into a next-level interplay between dance and illusion in a breathtaking, innovative form of theater. Let yourself be moved by this astonishing, stirring and meticulously executed coming-of-age performance.

After only a short run of performances during COVID-19, Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) is looking forward to re-presenting A Forsythe Evening, which revives NDT's long-standing relationship with choreographer William Forsythe. Forsythe revolutionized the dance world and is known worldwide for his dynamic approach to the art form. His interest in choreographic structures forms the basis of Forsythe's extensive oeuvre: "I keep trying to understand how the term choreography can manifest itself in any circumstance." The works are accompanied by music from Forsythe's regular composer Thom Willems.

Life smiles upon top lawyer Amir Kapoor. He adores his wife, and a big promotion is just around the corner. But when Amir offers his cousin a helping hand in a criminal case against an imam, not only his career, but also his private life threatens to derail. Disgraced raises the penetrating question of whether we can ever break free from our heritage and identity. This modern stage classic was written by Ayad Akhtar and has already triumphed in New York, London and Munich. Director: Saman Amini and Eric de Vroedt.

Islands of Empathy (in a Sea of Chaos), the latest performance by Club Guy & Roni and Slagwerk Den Haag, focuses on the theme of empathy and how it can be the driving force in the way people live together.   

In 1944, the Russian grandmother of actor Willem Voogd boarded a German train from Odessa in the former Soviet Union to the West, heading to see her love. After six months and through bombed railway lines, labor camps and illegal border crossings, she finally reaches her love in the Netherlands. In 2021, her grandson will make the same journey. Willem's journey previously resulted in the successful podcast Baba and is now being brought to the stage. Willem delves into his grandmother's history and discovers a completely different side of Baba than he initially knew.

Making an opera out of the drama that unfolds just before a premiere  -- Mozart did it. In the brilliant comedy Der Schauspieldirektor, the composer ridicules the opera world. Everything takes a role: from rival singers, giant egos and hectic rehearsals to arguments on stage. Opera singer and author Christopher Gillett, together with conductor Enrico Delamboye and a top cast full of young talent, bring out the sparkling lightness of this funny and inventive score. And, of course, Mozart's fantastic music stands central!

Peggy has been looking for them for a long time: the names and stories of her ancestors. Centuries of colonialism and slavery have erased them. Whether she will ever find the names is uncertain. Maartje has an extensive family tree with names, surnames and portraits. Her ancestors had a share in a plantation, but this was not a topic of conversation in her family until now.

Which emotions, behaviors and desires have we accepted and which have we not? Drift is a refreshing, absurd cabaret spectacle about (not) giving in to your own human urges. Using idiosyncratic stories, mixed with electronic beats, colorful visual dream-images, philosophical outbursts, absurd lip-sync acts and theatrical tantrums, Christian van Eijkelenburg searches for answers and shows our (in)ability to be ourselves amongst others.

Their family business develops into a dizzying financial empire that is handed down from generation to generation and continues to grow. In 2008, it is jointly responsible for the financial and banking crisis. This is how Lehman Brothers self-destructs. Lehman Trilogy has made waves on the West End and Broadway in recent years. Directed by Guy Cassiers, Internationaal Theater Amsterdam is performing this unparalleled story spanning 150 years in Dutch for the first time.

Not endless talk, but rather good interactive stories that you will learn something from and can laugh about. The lectures and experiments deal with themes such as money, the climate, AI/future, love/sex, healthy living, music and the brain. The University of the Netherlands will bring science closer to you with this fascinating show. And all that under the inspirational leadership of presenter and comedian Fuad Hassen.

Vlag is an umbrella term for all the social constructs and systems we take for granted. For invariance, as if it cannot or should not change. The systems are restricted by arbitrary country and city boundaries. In a theatrical, musical and visual performance, Yousef Gnaoui deconstructs our ideas and merges them into a new perspective.
