Introduce your students to theater
Theater that takes you away
Welcome to the theater; a place where students step out of their own world for a moment and learn to check with new eyes. Theater touches, surprises and stimulates thought, and offers space to experience themes such as identity, friendship and social issues in a different way.

Personal advice from Jantine
Every class is different. Are you looking for a performance that ties in with CKV, citizenship or a specific theme? I like to think along with you. No time to go through the entire offer? I would be happy to visit you at school or receive you at the Parktheater to discuss the possibilities.

Workshops & Deepening
Do you want your students to not only watch theater, but also experience it? Our workshops can be combined with a performance, but can also be booked separately as an introduction to theater and Parktheater.
Backstage Mystery Tour (class 1 to 3)
An interactive discovery tour through the theater. Students solve mysteries and playfully learn how a theater works.
Theater technique (classes 1 to 3)
A light and sound workshop in which students experience for themselves how technology creates atmosphere, excitement and experience.
Backstage! Theater Technique & Costume (VSO)
A combination workshop in which students discover how technique, costume and grime together bring a performance to life.
We like to think along with you to make the theater visit valuable.
Practical information
Guidance
Parktheater provides one free ticket for accompaniment per 20 students. Many companies recommend one supervisor per 15 students. The number of supervisors needed also af on the group and the school's estimate. The school remains responsible for guidance and supervision during the theater visit.
Telephone storage
Enjoy theater with your class undisturbed? A cell phone box is available for VO groups. Pupils can safely store their phones during the performance, so that there is peace and quiet in the hall and all attention is focused on the live theater experience. When booking, you can indicate if you would like to use this.
More than a performance
A theater visit becomes even more valuable with a good preparation or in-depth activity. For many performances we offer extra opportunities to prepare students for their visit or to delve deeper into the themes of the performance.

Get more out of a theater visit
A theater visit does not just start when the lights dim. With a good preparation students step into the theater with more focus, curiosity and involvement. That is why many companies offer teaching materials, assignments, workshops or an introduction. Students are introduced to the themes, makers or special form of a performance. This gives them tools to look more consciously and get more out of their visit. We recommend using this material in class before or after the performance. Theater sometimes raises questions, emotions or different opinions. Preparation and reflection help students to discuss these with each other.
Preparation in class
Not every student visits a theater regularly. Watch the videos on this page to prepare students for their visit. They get to know the theater, discover what to expect during a performance and get practical tips to get more out of their visit.
A joint start
For many school performances we receive students together in the theater beforehand. We welcome them, briefly tell them something about the performance, the makers or the themes that will be covered, and take students through what they can expect.
We also pay attention to the special experience of live theater. How do you watch a performance? What makes theater different from a film or video? And how do we together ensure a pleasant experience for the audience, artists and coaches?
This creates peace, attention and involvement from the very first moment. Students do not just step into a hall, but consciously start a joint cultural experience.
Reflect and deepen
Afterwards there are regular opportunities to discuss the performance continue. Think of a Meet & Greet with the makers, an after talk or an in-depth assignment for the class. In this way a performance becomes not just a fun afternoon or evening out, but an experience that keeps on working.
Tailor-made
Are you looking for a performance around a specific theme or do you want a customized program for your students? We like to think along with you about a suitable combination of performance, workshop, preparation or in-depth program. Together we make sure that a theater visit suits your students, learning goals and educational practice.
