Accessibility Week 2026

October 5–11 | Theater for Everyone

Accessibility Week runs from October 5 through 11. At Parktheater , we’re also dedicating extra attention to accessible theater this week. Because everyone should be able to enjoy a performance in a way that works for them.

That’s why this week we’ve put together a program featuring performances that are accessible to a diverse audience, as well as performances that explore the theme of accessibility. In this way, we’re showing how diverse accessibility can be and why it’s important that everyone can participate.

Together with the other theaters in the Wonka Podia network, we’re putting a special spotlight on accessibility this week.

Here’s what’s on
During Accessibility Week, Parktheater will be placing special emphasis on performances that are accessible to, for example, deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors, blind and visually impaired visitors, and visitors who prefer prikkels less prikkels. In addition, there are performances that, in their own way, address themes such as inclusion, participation, and accessibility.

Together, we’re making theater more accessible
Together with the other theaters in the Wonka Podia network, we’re putting accessibility in the spotlight during Accessibility Week. Parktheater Eindhoven is part of this collaboration among five theaters in the Brainport region. Together, we share knowledge, learn from one another, and join forces in areas such as accessibility, inclusivity, internationalization, and education.

There’s plenty to do at the other Wonka Venues during this week as well. Check out the joint program and discover which performances and initiatives are taking place in the region.

Accessibility is an important part of our collaboration. That’s why we also partner with organizations that have extensive knowledge of accessible theater, such as Theater met Tolk, Komt het Zien!, and Stichting Onbeperkt Genieten.

This year’s national theme for Accessibility Week is accessible care. The goal is to draw attention to what people need in order to receive quality care. In the theater, too, accessibility starts with that same question: What do you need to feel welcome and at ease?

Theater for Everyone
Of course, accessibility doesn’t stop after this week. At Parktheater , there are various options available year-round for visitors who need extra support.

From wheelchair-accessible seating and the Phonak Roger system to low-stimulus performances, audio description, and sign language and written interpretation. We’re happy to work with you to figure out what you need.
